Peace Solution: Women's Meaningful Participation in Peace Processes

A report published by UN Women, written by  the Expert Group Meeting that includes 50 experts from a wide range of levels and layers of peace and security processes and institutions, delves into the role of women in peace processes and the manner in which their participation may be encouraged, facilitated and leveraged towards sustainable futures of peace. The panel experts comprised a range of practitioners, women from nations affected by conflict and violence, academics, advocates, analysts, and staff from across different divisions of the United Nations. The panel of experts discussed the barriers to and enablers of women’s representation and meaningful participation at all stages of peace and security processes. The aim of the EGM was focused on: exchanging, exploring, discussing and assessing.
